The Forum program will combine the parallel programs of the participating Research Committees, Working and Thematic Groups, and the general program prepared by the Scientific Committee. The general program will elaborate the central theme of the Forum, Sociological Research and Public Debate, through plenary sessions with invited speakers and several streams of parallel sessions (common sessions) organized around various thematic axes: Economy and Society; Sociology of Education; Racism, Nationalism and Ethnic Relations; Futures Research; Social Transformations and Sociology of Development; Participation, Organizational Democracy and Self-Management; Sociology of Aging; Sociology of Law; Sociology of Leisure; Sociology of Communication, Knowledge and Culture; Sociology of Organization; Political Sociology; Regional and Urban Development; Sociology of Religion; Sociology of Science and Technology; Environment and Society; Language and Society; Sociotechnics, Sociological Practice; Deviance and Social Control; Sociology of Work; Sociology of Migration; Women in Society; Sociology of Youth; Committee on Conceptual and Terminological Analysis; Alienation Theory and Research; Sociology of Arts; Biography and Society; Sociology of Population; Social Psychology; Housing and Built Environment; Labor Movements; Rational Choice; Clinical Sociology; Social Classes and Social Movements; Social Movements, Collective Action and Social Change; Mental Health and Illness; Sociology of Childhood.
A specific fund for giving grants to participants will be established. A Grants Committee constituted by representatives from ISA and the Local Organising Committee will be in charge for its distribution. Applications by participants in the RCs, WGs and TGs programs should be seconded by them.

May 31, 2008 - for pre-registration and submission of abstracts by registered presenters for inclusion in CSA Sociological Abstracts.
